Myrna Kamara

After training at the School of American Ballet, Myrna became a member of the New York City Ballet. Later she was a soloist with the Bonn Ballet in Germany, a principal dancer in Miami City Ballet and Béjart Ballet Lausanne.

Myrna is an international principal guest artist having performed choreographies including George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Vladimir Vassiliev, Gheorghe Iancu, Yanis Pikieris, Paulo Manso de Sousa, Lynne Taylor Corbett, Susanna Egri, Renato Zanella, Luc Bouy , Paolo Mohovich and more.

Some of her important performances included the prima ballerina role in “Aida”, at the Arena di Verona for several years, Balanchine’s “Rubies” as a guest artist in Capetown, South Africa, “Aida and ” Carmen” Gala for Placido Domingo in Japan, “Aida” from Franco Zeffirelli at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, a Bulgari event with Roberto Bolle at Terme di Caracalla in Rome, Gala des Etoiles in Luxembourg performing Balanchine, and the 20 year anniversary of the Miami International Ballet Festival.

Myrna is a guest teacher (Basel Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, School of American Ballet, New York City Ballet , Orsolina 28, Art Studio Danza etc.) and has coached competition ice skaters to help improve their artistic performance qualities. She was also on the Jury of the Prix de Lausanne 2021 to support young talents in achieving their goals.

In addition to all of this , Ms Kamara is the founder and performer of her own dance company, balletXtreme, a strong neoclassical- contemporary ballet company performing works from diverse internationally renowned choreographers.( www.balletxtreme.com )
